Ground Shipping All orders placed through www.TheGreatHardwareStore.com will be shipped via Standard Ground Service. Since we have access to 14 warehouses nationwide, it is likely that your order will arrive within 4 to 6 business days. We cannot, however, guarantee the product will arrive prior to 4 to 6 business days on standard ground shipments.
Expedited Shipping We have 3 Business Day to Next Business Day shipping available, please visit the shopping cart to view product delivery options.
Freight Shipments While most orders are shipped via Standard Ground Service, some high quantity orders or large-sized orders must be shipped via Common Carrier, or Freight. Any customer that receives an order that was shipped via Freight service MUST inspect the items BEFORE signing off on receiving the shipment. If a shipment is signed off on, the customer then assumes all responsibility of damaged items. TheGreatHardwareStore.com will not accept returns on orders shipped via Freight service.
Additional Information Please allow additional time for delivery of all over-sized or hazmat items (this includes some liquid based products). These items take slightly longer to process and might need to be shipped via ground freight service. |

Returns At The Great Hardware Store, we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible on-line shopping experience. This includes a commitment to excellent customer service, even after the products have been delivered. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with a product ordered through The Great Hardware Store.com, we will gladly assist you with our return program. All return requests must be submitted within 14 days of shipment. NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ON SPECIAL ORDER OR CLEARANCE ITEMS. All SALES FINAL ON SPECIAL ORDER AND CLEARANCE ITEMS.
Returning Merchandise
- To return an item, complete the following steps:
Contact us by phone or e-mail to request a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#). All returns must have this number, otherwise it may take a few weeks to process your refund or exchange.

- Re-package the item and affix a shipping label with the RMA# clearly written on the package
- Include a copy of your order confirmation or packing slip with the package. Make sure the RMA number is clearly written here as well.
- Make sure you receive a tracking number for the package so there is a way to track the package back to us. Also if the order was expensive, you may want to consider insuring the package against being lost or damaged.
- Please note the following when returning an item:
- The original shipping charge will not be refunded, except in cases of The Great Hardware Store's error.
- Returned products will incur a 25% restocking fee, except in cases of The Great Hardware Store's error.
- Return products must be in original condition (sealed, retail packaging) otherwise a refund may not be issued.
- Oversize items, such as office furniture, are subject to a minimum $25 restocking fee, or 25% of the product cost, whichever is greater.
- Items that require installation cannot be returned after they have been installed, so please make sure the item you received is the item needed.
- Special order merchandise, food and beverages, and pharmaceutical products are not subject to return, except in the case of our error.
- The Great Hardware Store will not accept returns that have been used. If an item has been used and is returned to us, no refund will be issued.
- Refused shipments will be credited once our warehouse receives the item, minus the original shipping charge, the return shipping charge, and a 25% restocking fee.
- If the information above does not answer your question, please call our customer service department.
Refunds If the return item is in new condition, we will be happy to issue a refund for the product, minus a restocking fee. The original shipping cost will also be refunded if we made a mistake on your order or the product is damaged through no fault of the customer.
Damaged or Defective If product is damaged upon receipt please contact us within 2 business days. If an item is believed to be defective, refer to the warranty section.
Exchanges If you wish to exchange your return with a different item, check TheGreatHardwareStore.com for the new item's availability. We will be happy to ship the replacement item upon receipt of the original purchase.
Warranty All warranties are product specific and vary by manufacturer. Each claim is handled by the manufacturer. Due to circumstances beyond our control, The Great Hardware Store will not be held responsible for defective products.
